Mise-en-Scene

There are many different modern definitions of mise-en-scene but the most common refers to the visual aspects of a film that appear in front of the camera, this includes scenery, setting, actors, the way the action is presented etc. Mise-en-scene literally translates as ’setting on scene’ or ’staging’ and originates from French theatre.
